Tile & Grout Cleaning FAQ’s for our Myrtle Beach Customers

How long does it take for tile and grout to dry?
Typically tile and grout is dry within 2-4 hours. If it has been sealed it can take 3-6 hours. The results of the grout cleaning can sometimes change within the first 24-48 hours. there can be issues of blotching and discoloration while the grout is in the drying process. Please allow ample time for drying before fully evaluating the results. You may walk on the tile and grout with caution soon after cleaning. Please limit the use until fully dry.
Are there any additional charges that I need to expect?
We do offer an additional service to a standard tile cleaning*Tile and grout (grout) sealing: This product is designed to apply a layer of protective coating between your tile and grout to prevent everyday dirt and spills from setting into the pores of the tile and grout.
How far in advance should I call to schedule and appointment?
We are able to accommodate some “same-day” services. However, it is recommended to give us 2-5 business days to fit you into the schedule. the further notice you give us the better we are able to serve you.
What types of stains do not come out with a cleaning?
Any area where the tile and or grout is no longer in tact will not yield improvement with cleaning. Examples of this may be: cracks, missing tile, or missing grout. Certain biological material can stain the tile and grout and not come out. We do not offer any other services to remedy these occurrences. Products that contain dye such as Kool-Aid or hair dye may absorb into the pores of the tile and grout and permanently stain it. Discoloration can also occur when a customer has had the grout sealed with a colored sealer but does not know it. It is important to make sure that if any one seals, or if you seal it yourself, that a clear sealer is used to prevent discoloration when the sealer wears off or the tile and grout is proffesionally cleaned. If you do know that there has been a colored sealer applied to your grout please let the scheduler know so that they can inform you and the techs of the appropriate steps needed to take to get the best results.
How often should I have my tile and grout cleaned?
Residential customers should have their tile and grout cleaned every 6-12 months depending upon traffic. If your property is used as a rental property, we advise having the tile and grout cleaned seasonally (3-6 months). Many tile and grout manufacturers recommend these time periods as well.
What is grout staining? How do I know if I need this done?
In some circumstances it may be better to stain the grout instead of just clean and seal it. If there are stubborn areas of your grout that just wont come clean; grout staining is going to be the best option to fix the visual appearance. The staining process that we recommend is where you first clean the tile and grout the follow the cleaning with a stain/ sealer process. This is a tedious process and will not just renew the color of your grout but will also seal it.
If you have had this type of staining done in the past and are having your tile and grout cleaned, you need to be aware that the cleaning process does remove the original sealer that was applied. This may cause a discolored look to the grout in which case you would need to have the grout re-stained to get back the original look. If you do not; we cannot guarantee the esthetic appearance of the grout.     If you have any other specific questions you can call our office or submit an e-mail request form on this site and someone will get back wit you as soon as possible.
