Our 20 Step Upholstery Cleaning Process

Step 1: Pre - Arrival

The day before arrival, you will receive a call &/or text confirming your cleaning appointment. On the day of your appointment, you will receive a photo (by text) of your cleaning technician, along with his ETA (estimate arrival time).

Step 2: Pre - Inspection

Our technician will walk through the home with you to visually inspect your upholstery. He will identify fiber type, wear patterns, potential permanent stains and give you an evaluation of expected results, as well as listen to all concerns you may have.

Step 3: Pre -Vacuum (Dry Soil & Pet Hair Removal)

80% of all soils on your upholstered items are dry soils. These soils are thoroughly removed using our power vacuuming system. Removing dry soil is one of the most vitally & crucial steps in the cleaning process. We use a single stage (silicone bristle) power vacuum brush that gently (without stretching your fabrics) removes those deep-down dry soils and pet hairs that are so hard to remove from your clothing.

Step 4: Safety Precautions

For your safety, we use all precautions through-out the cleaning process, we put out caution signs (preventing accidental trips hazards) and wall-guards to ensure no damages occur to your walls and baseboards while your service is being performed.

Step 5: Furniture Moving (+In-Plant)

Our regular pricing includes cleaning your upholstered pieces in your home. However, in special cases we can relocate your furniture to our plant for specialize cleaning. This may add substantially more time to the cleaning process. One of our consultants can quote the exact cost of relocating or pick-up & delivery of any piece needing to be cleaned in our facility.

Step 6: Pre -Treat

Depending on fabric type, a solution specialty designed for your fabric type and soiling condition will be applied to emulsify those deep-down soils. We use non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning agents that are pet friendly and mother approved.

Step 7: Pre - Agitation

A specialty (horse hair) brush is used in loosening those heavily soiled areas. This is not a commonly used tool by basic cleaners but it makes all the difference.

Step 8: Spotting (Spot Removal)

Difficult spots are treated using a precise spot cleaning agent. These products and knowledge of their application, increase the chances of removing any stubborn spots or spills.

Step 9: Rinse and Extraction

The upholstery piece is then thoroughly rinsed & sanitized using a deep soil extraction system, without over wetting those delicate fabrics.

Step 10: Neutralizer

Has your furniture every been left with a sticky feeling after a professional cleaning?  That feeling is due to residue being left behind. Residue attracts dirt and shortens your furniture’s life by altering its chemical state over time. We pH balance every piece of furniture we clean, therefore preventing sticky residue from being left behind.

Step 11: Soil Repellent

Have you ever noticed after cleaning your furniture, it looked dried out and had a crunchy feeling? Squeaky clean is not the goal when we are dealing with textiles. We apply a conditioning agent that helps in repelling those dry soils after cleaning, leaving your upholstery looking and feeling soft and clean to the touch.

Step 12: Returning Spot Prevention (Wicking)

Anti-wicking agent is applied to your furniture which prevents returning spots from re-appearing after cleaning has been performed. This results in expanding the life of your fabrics and keeping them cleaner longer.

Step 13: Odor Eliminator (Deodorizing)

We then deodorize your furniture, removing any air born odors that may have embedded themselves into the furniture.  Most deodorizers cover up smells, our specially designed enzyme-based deodorizer eliminate those hard to remove odors.

Step 14: Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning your furniture does 3 things: 1) Removes residual moisture left behind from cleaning 2) Helps speed dry fabrics 3) Finally, aides in preventing spots from re-appearing after cleaning has been performed.

Step 15: Fabric Protectant

We then apply fabric protectant to your upholstery. Thuro Clean offers two different types of protectant: 1) is a Teflon protectant 2) The other is our permanent protectant. With this protectant we offer a 12month spot & spill warranty that will help avoid future permanent staining and those costly service calls.

Step 16: Post Grooming

Your upholstery is groomed with a professional grooming tool, this tool set the pile in its natural position after cleaning. Grooming also helps the furniture dry faster and in the right position.

Step 17: Speed Drying

We use high velocity air movers for speed drying your furniture. The longer your upholstery stays wet the more susceptible it is to dirt. Thuro Clean leaves your furniture 80% to 90% dryer then other cleaners.

Step 18: Furniture Mark Prevention

Most furniture base and legs are made of dyed wood, our technicians wrap the furniture base and legs preventing any possible wood dye from transferring to unwanted locations.

Step 19: Over Spray Removal

After your cleaning has been performed our technicians will wipe baseboards and any other surrounding areas that may have come in contact with our cleaning agents during service.

Step 20: Post Walk-Thru (Cleaning Inspection)

Our technician will now review the post job report while point out cleaning results and to ensure you’re completely thrilled with your experience. After walk-thru has been performed our office will call YOU to ensure our technician has met all your expectations. If they have not met your expectations, this will be the time to speak-up, and he will then re-clean any concerned area or answer any further questions you may have.
